There isn't any magic formula or standardized process for puppy training. Instead, puppy training is all about your intentions, commitment, and actions.
Each module in this course will provide you with the basic information and simple actions that you can follow to make sure your puppy settles into your home smoothly, bonds with you quickly, and understands the rules and expectations agreeably.

Hi, I’m Crystal!
I'm the owner of Groundwork Puppy Rearing. I'm a lover of giant breed dogs and enemy of nonsense. I love a well trained dog but I don't expect perfection. I believe that when we don't raise our dogs with intention, we do them a major disservice and we set them up for failure.
So I want to help you prepare for your puppy ahead of time, plan your training goals, and commit to making the everyday decisions during puppyhood that will lay the foundation for good behaviours and make dog ownership rewarding and stress-free.
The First Five Days is the culmination of over 20 years of dog training experience. As a result, the course includes the exact steps, tips, and actions that I have personally used with my own puppies every single time. And in addition to using this methodology to set my own puppies up for success, I have helped countless other new puppy parents do the same easily and without stress. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
- This course is for anyone that is getting a new puppy. Even if you have had puppies or dogs in the past, I promise that you'll learn something new!
- This course is NOT for anyone getting an adult dog (one year or older). Although these techniques can apply to older puppies (6+ months), they are best suited for young puppies aged 12-16 weeks.
WHEN SHOULD I COMPLETE THIS COURSE?
- Once you have a firm date of when you will be getting your puppy, you should begin this course 2-3 weeks before that date to give you enough time to get all of your puppy items and complete the worksheets.
HOW LONG DOES THIS COURSE TAKE TO COMPLETE?
- The total time to complete the module presentations is approximately 60 minutes. There are also worksheets that you can download and complete, which should only take an hour or two.
HOW LONG WILL I HAVE ACCESS TO THE COURSE?
- Like that tribal tattoo you impulsively got when you were 16, this course is yours for life! So even if your plans to get a puppy are pushed back a bit, this course will always be here waiting to be completed when the time is right.
